Some of my favourite projects have involved creating animated visuals inspired by poetry.

Crossing to Ireland 

 This animated version of Jean Maskell's poem was highly commended at the Liverpool Celtic Animation Festival and winner of the Audience Award at 'Best of CAFF 2020.

Evolution: Seeds and Streams

This piece of visual poetry accompanied live music by John Ellis and was performed in Manchester Town Hall as part of the Manchester Jazz Festival. Directed by Antony Barkworth-Knight and funded by the Arts Council, I worked as an animation assistant on this project and drew lots of birds!

The Reedy Boy

Another Arts Council funded project, this animation was completed with support from poet Andy Hickmott and musician Jay Birbeck. The animation was screened as both a live performance in Manchester Central Library and series of shorter YouTube instalments.
